Hi all, I've got a total N00b question, and inherited this setup... I am very new to telephony so limited experience on this front.
I have a Cisco 2921 with a
NAME: "VWIC3-2MFT-T1/E1 - 2-Port RJ-48 Multiflex Trunk - T1/E1 on Slot 0 SubSlot 1", DESCR: "VWIC3-2MFT-T1/E1 - 2-Port RJ-48 Multiflex Trunk - T1/E1" in slot 0/1/0.
The PRI seems to be active:
ISDN Serial0/1/0:23 interface
dsl 1, interface ISDN Switchtype = primary-ni
L2 Protocol = Q.921 0x0000 L3 Protocol(s) = CCM MANAGER 0x0003
Layer 1 Status:
ACTIVE
Layer 2 Status:
TEI = 0, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED
Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)
Active dsl 1 CCBs = 0
The Free Channel Mask: 0x807FFFFF
Number of L2 Discards = 0, L2 Session ID = 16
Total Allocated ISDN CCBs = 0
My brief config:
controller T1 0/1/0
cablelength long 0db
pri-group timeslots 1-24 service mgcp
interface Serial0/1/0:23
no ip address
encapsulation hdlc
isdn switch-type primary-ni
isdn incoming-voice voice
isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager
no cdp enable
voice-port 0/1/0:23
I also have a cucm setup in my HQ office with all these IP Phones setup there.
In looking at this config i show some dial-peer configs (shown below):
I'm assuming if i dial 911 or 9,410,xxx-xxxx the router will send this call across the local PRI rather than the MPLS line to my home office. Is this true? The area code 410 is in baltimore and not sure why a LD call specific to this area code would traverse the PRI rather than the MPLS. I understand that 911 is setup this way for emergency, but why the 410?
Secondly the dial-peer 512 is the local area code in Austin (my branch office), but the translation-profile is setup with 'local' rather than "LOCAL". Is case sensitivity important? With this dial-peer will this send all my local calls across this PRI?
Any clarification is appreciated.

I suggest you post your full config, those dial-peers will not be used by that PRI, unless you have SRST. That PRI is handled by MGCP on CUCM, so CUCM is the one that takes care of all the routing, the PRI will just do whatever CUCM says.
No way to tell you anything with just bits and pieces of the config.

Thanks Jamie, I agree (i did clear a few password and other unnecessary things per our security policy).

Well, whoever did this, did a messy job, it seems that both of your PRIs are supposed to be MGCP, you can confirm that in the CUCM config, but one is lacking config, if they're both supposedly MGCP
This is a good config:
interface Serial0/1/0:23
no ip address
encapsulation hdlc
isdn switch-type primary-ni
isdn incoming-voice voice
isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager <---- notice this command, which binds L3 to MGCP, as it has to be
no cdp enable
controller T1 0/1/0
cablelength long 0db
pri-group timeslots 1-24 service mgcp
This is a half cooked config
controller T1 0/0/0
cablelength long 0db
pri-group timeslots 1-24 service mgcp
interface Serial0/0/0:23
no ip address
encapsulation hdlc
isdn switch-type primary-ni
isdn incoming-voice voice
no cdp enable
Not sure if you have/had another port for MGCP
dial-peer voice 999020 pots
service mgcpapp
port 0/2/0
You also seem to have what might have been an attempt for SRST, but just as with the above PRI, is not fully configured
Right now those dial-peers and translation rules, seem to be doing absolutely nothing, as they're supposed to use the PRI which is controlled by MGCP.
You might want to ask around if someone has some idea of what that ISR is supposed to do before removing and adjusting that config.
