Currently, the DHCPv6 server is only available in the Advanced IP services feature on the 800 series platform.
Here is the data sheet for feature to license mapping:
I don't know if there are any plans in the future to change it, but what you are seeing today is the expected and intended behavior.

I think you have some issues with your IOS licensing.

Are you trying to be an DHCPv6 client or a DHCPv6 server?
DHCPv6 client is an interface subcommand, not a global one. It is activated on an interface by interface basis.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipv6/configuration/guide/ip6-dhcp.html#wp1054391
DHCPv6 server is in the same license set as DHCP server (IPv4 and IPv6 should be at feature parity), so based on Feature Navigator it looks like you would need Advanced IP Services or Advanced Security license. And you have Advanced Security.
Could be a license issue, you might want to open a TAC case.

I want to configure a DHCPv6 server. It's on global configuration mode:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipv6/configuration/guide/ip6-dhcp.html#wp1066271
DHCP Server for IPv4 is not a problem to config.
It might be license issues.

OK, some internal experiementation indicates that in the version you run, the DHCPv6 server is available in the Advanced IP Services feature set. You are running the Advanced Security feature set.
It is not clear to me if this state of licensing is intentional or an oversight. I am researching that now. Typically, Cisco products maintain parity between IPv4 and IPv6 features within a feature set.
In the interim, you should install an evaluation license for Advanced IP Services (advipservices) to activate the DHCPv6 server.

Thanks for the update Phillip. Is there any way we can feed this back to Cisco? It seems an unusual decision to omit DHCPv6 from the Advanced Security feature set. Especially on branch-office devices like these.

The 800 series product manager has been alerted and understands the problem, but they curently have no committed time frame to fix it. I'll update this thread if I learn any more from them. I also recommend filing a complaint through your sales channel and encouraging your peers with a similar issue to do the same. Work prioritization is ultimalely driven by customer sentiment.

Hi . Any progress with problem of DHCP6 server on 88x series ? Situation really bad because RFC 6106 also not supported by cisco . So not have another way to configure ipv6 connectivity. I am little bit wondered why such feature implemented only in ADV IP.
