Hi,
I wish to know Network+ last version in terms of year. Also, I wish to know whether it still contain IPv4. Finally, I wish to know if IPv6 has been deployed in internet & we have websites that have it. Do you think its still a necessity to learn about IPv4 & its subnetting?
Your's faithfully,
David

HI there,
I don't quite understand the first part of your question. Regarding IPv6 usage, take a look at the links on this page:
https://www.internetsociety.org/deploy360/ipv6/statistics/
Should you still learn IPv4 subnetting? Absolutely! IPv6 adoption has been incredibly slow so depreciation of IPv4 is a very long way off.
cheers,
Seb.

Hello again,
Some operating systems have implemented the IETF Happy Eyeballs algorithm which prefers an IPv6 over IPv4 connection to a resource. Certainly Apple is very vocal about its implementation of the algorithm. In fact I saw a slide deck recently from an Apple conference where it states that IPv6 is faster. ah here it is:
https://www.zdnet.com/article/apple-tells-app-devs-to-use-ipv6-as-its-1-4-times-faster-than-ipv4/
As for IPv4 exhaustion, yes that is very real, but keep in mind that is for the public address space. There is a very healthy market for reselling public IPv4 subnets and organisations from the internets infancy selling off some of their large prefixes.

Different internet registers have varying levels of capacity, but all are being diminished.
IPv6 is the future of the internet! ;)
cheers,
Seb.

The only course/ certification I have seen is: https://ipv6.he.net/certification/
It is more of a full stack course than just networking but because of this it will give you some great examples to work through.
cheers,
Seb.

And to add to Seb's information, you can also look at https://www.worldipv6launch.org/measurements/ for some additional service provider based statistics.
