Hi,
I have one question. Why IPv6 came straight after IPv4 and ipv5 was not introduced?

Hi Mukul,
Aroud 1993, when IPv4 exhaustion was predicted by experts, people started developing Stream protocol 2 (ST2) which is basically some enhancement on ST.
I beleive IBM, NeXT had this protocol implemented in their network. But technologies like NAT, dynamic address allocation kept address exhaustion under control and gave enough time to develop IPng protocol with lot of enhancements. ST2 was marked as IPv5 and IPng was designated as IPv6
I had the same doubt few years back. So did some search ad documented it in my blog
