PPPoE functionality

Hi,

We are currently utilising L2TP to tunnel PPPoE traffic and we are seeing some irregularities. How does Cisco IOS handle the following scenario:

user logged on and authenticated via PPPoE and Radius. The user sends regular PPP echo messages. For some unknown reason the user then sends a PPP LC configuration request with a different magic number to the one used for the current established session. My question is how does IOS handle this, I would expect the router to terminate the current PPPoE session by sending a PADT packet to the source as the magic numbers are different but I need this confirming. Unfortunately, I can't get the configs of the terminating router as we don't manage it.

Telnet into that the terminating router and then apply the show commands or debug command to troubleshoot the issue.

The debug command may bring the CPU process higher and debug commands are not recommended to avoid any issues.
