Folks,
I do not see in the feature navigator that sup720 supports l2tpv3, very surprised? how do service providers running 7600 series router provide Lan services to customers then?
the ones who are not running MPLS that is?

Try to configure it, it would be not the first time something is missing on feature navigator.
OR enable MPLS. Why are not using MPLS ?

I tried it and it did not show me the command, why enable MPLS when you can do that same thing without added complexitity of MPLS.
Thanks

I got your message I agree with you that you can provide L2 and L3 VPN services with L2tpv3 instead of using MPLS
I actually used it successfully on C3725, C3745 platforms but one year ago with the IOS images I was using I saw a lack of support of QoS for L2 VPN over L2TPV3 tunnels.
have a nice weekend

A wild thought will be the extra L2TP encapsulation eating up into the IP header.
