Internet access using default routing with MPLS

Hi all ,

Please see the network diagram

CE1--PE1--P---GATEWAY---INTERNET ROUTER

In PE1,P and GATEWAY we are using ospf and MPLS is enabled in all the interfaces.

CE1-PE1 ospf is enabled.

GATEWAY-INTERNET ROUTER BGP is running.

we are originating a default route via OSPF in GATEWAY.

mpls ip default-route is enabled  in PE1 P and GATEWAY.

I can able to ping and tracerouting to INTERNET routes from CE1

I want to hide the P router IP from the traceroute.

I am using no mpls ip propagate-ttl in PE1 ,P AND GATEWAY router but the feature is not working. Please suggest the solution.

Thanks in advance,

Arun Mohan

Hi Arun,

The "no mpls ip propagate-ttl" only needs to be configured on the PEs but it not really an issue to configure it on the P. In principle, you should only see the ingress PE and egress PE in the traceroute. Are you tracing from a CE or from the PE? What platform and what version are you using?
