Hello,
Anyone have any similar issues to the following?
We have L2VPNs (both VPLS/EVPN-VPWS) between an ASR9902 and ASR920/NCS540 that exhibit this behavior.
Customer brings up their services across the L2VPN from A location to Z location along with their multicast based control protocols like LACP, IS-IS, PIM etc. All is well and IP traffic functions correctly and everything is stable.
Customer puts a multicast subscriber on the Z side of the circuit (ASR920/NCS540), PIM join gets sent to the A side of the customer's circuit, multicast video traffic hits the circuit from A to Z (9902 to ASR920/NCS540). As soon as this multicast streaming data hits the PW circuit, all multicast control protocols start flapping up/down until the multicast subscriber leaves the multicast group and PIM group un-joins.
Only way we can make this work is ASR920 to ASR920 or NCS540 to NCS540, currently. Seems to be something with the 9902 possibly. We have tried VPLS and EVPN-VPWS for the underlying PW technology and both operate the same way. Hope someone has ran into this before.
Interestingly enough, customers possibly have a common platform on the A side. Cisco ASR 9010. Not sure if that means anything or not but never know.
