we have 3 Equinix sites witch we are using EQX fabric to connect to our cloud infra already, and we have some bandwidth left and we would like to make use the remaining bandwidth to build a custom MPLS network across 3 sites to aim to provide layer 2 and layer 3 over IP an get rid of our traditional MPLS provider... route are Catalyst 8500 with network adv license.
The current router they are already setup and running our data and routing over default VRF, just some eigrp and some BGP redist to each others, all over default VRF...
QUESTIONS
1) is that any one with experience by using Equnix Fabirc "network" connection (which is a layer 2 looks like a network) to run MPLS?
2) Since my use case is I wanted to keep the default VRF as the "customer-facing" VRF, all MP-BGP/VPNv4 and IPV4 seems all fully support with MP-BGP, but all doc teach us to create a VRF and assign RD and RT, but I have no idea what is the name of the "default" VRF in Catalyst 8500, and setup RD and RT in default...
is that any good reference on those and I would love to setup a mini MPLS platform which can carry the layer2/3 overlay
