ACS 5.4.46 Back up failed - CARS_INVALID_LOCDIR : -372 invalid directory

Hi,

We have two newly built ACS 5.4.46 appliance virtual machines. They are both running on 90 day valuation licences with 88 days left.

We've created a software repository on the local disk called backup and scheduled a daily backup and also ran a manual backup.

The respositories show up in the running config (which has been saved ) and in the GUI.

But when we run    show repository backup   at the CLI, we get   %Invalid directory

The ACS error reports in GUI display this as an error after running the back up from the GUI

ACS 5.4.46 Back up failed - CARS_INVALID_LOCDIR : -372  invalid directory

We also ran a backup from the CLI as the admin account, it was reporting that it was progressing but we got the same error

ACS 5.4.46 Back up failed - CARS_INVALID_LOCDIR : -372  invalid directory

followed by        backup_file_name.tar.gpg  failed to transfer

This is happening on both ACS' that we built using the same iso image.

Is this due to using evaluation licences?

Thanks.

Have you tried taking backup on any external repository via ftp or sftp? It seems ACs cannot read the localdisk. If you want to troubleshoot the local disk issue get the following outputs

enable the debugs

debug backup-restore backup-only 7

try again and check out the following log file.

show logging system ade/ADE.log | last 20
