We have an old CIsco ACS version 4.2 running on a Win2003 server. I have a small window to get pricing for an upgrade due to grant money available. I was looking at ISE but costs and time sent me to SACS with the possibility of going to ISE in the future....not really needed and we really want something just for VPN and wireless access with some new 3850s with WLC we may get.
Can we purchase the upgrade from 4.2 (windows based) to 5.8.1 (VM) and do a fresh install? We do not plan on migrating any data. This is purely to save money on the price. How does that work??? Does it ask for a key or serial number of the old version??? We would be moving from windows to the OS version that runs under a VM. Price is $3K cheaper but I do not want to show that order number if I can't do it that way. Thanks
