Android 10/11 BYOD issue with Cisco Network Setup Assistance App

Hi All,

We are using dual SSID for our BYOD user onboarding. During the BYOD onboarding flow, the Cisco Network Setup Assistance app is opened manually by the user to continue with the flow (after BYOD portal sign-in) which then deploys the Android Wi-Fi profiles and certs. This message appears preventing to complete the flow. We have checked the Android security permissions for the Cisco app and followed the suggested actions as per the message. Nothing seems resolves the issue. Due to this the BYOD flow is unable to be completed.

This was working with Android 10/11 (phone and tablet) before, and the issue started recently and potentially this could be occurring due to an Android 10/11 security updates and/or ISE side network supplicant updates?

We also have tested the same process with Android 8/9 and BYOD completes without any issues.

Anybody having the similar issue, or any workaround found so far?

Please advise,

Thanks

Gaj

Have you followed the instructions as shown in the screenshot? Which part does it break?

Hi Howon,

Yes, followed the instructions as per the screenshot and also deleted the Wi-Fi network from saved list as well. Each time when the SSID is deleted and reconnect the BYOD flow starts again and the message pop-up again.

This happens when the app is opened (manually) during the ISE BYOD flow and when the app START is clicked , Installlling certificate process starts and this message pop-up (Andorid 10/11 only).

Regards

Gaj

As Hosuk said, the pop-up contains the instructions to complete installing the certificate and the wi-fi profile. If it's not working, we need check the debug logs, etc. Please engage Cisco TAC to help with the troubleshoot.
