BYOD vs Guest services in ISE

Hi Experts,

I know that ISE Guest services allows guest, visitors, customers, etc to do a http and https to acces the network corporate or public network. this the one that comes with the flavors like the self registration and sponsors features, etc.

Now, on the other hand, the BYOD solution is for allowing personal mobile devices like smarthphones and tablets, so this solution allows employees to connect to the corp network as well as public networks.

So, whats the difference? You can enfore policy with the Guest services too, so whats the point of introducing more terminology to the world?

with Guest services, in the company, people use their laptop, tablets, celphones, etc to connect to the wireless infra, so do I need the famous and marketing term deployed: "BYOD"

or am I understanding wrong the terms?

whats the benefits of having one vs the other?

can someone please explain me the real difference and real scenarios?

Regards

Would be great to see some real world examples.

Not sure what you're looking for.
BYOD in the guest world means I bring my device and get guest internet access, simple done. ISE can do guest for general BYOD.
BYOD in the ISE world specifically means for native supplicant and certificate provisioning. Get a client securely onto the network using EAP-TLS. It has nothing to do with guest (it does use guest portal to start the process). You can interchange access depending on your client and user needs.
