Hi, a catos sends the message MGMT-5-LOGIN_FAIL: User [chars] failed to log in from [chars] to syslog in case of failed login. IOS doesn't send a message for failed login.

Is there a possibility to get a simular message to syslog server in case of IOS when local authentication (no Radius ect) is configured?

Rgds,Werner

To my knowledge, IOS does not have that capability. In CatOS, you can be notified via SNMP or syslog events.

Hi Werner

Time has changed it is now possible:

global commands:

login on-failure trap

login on-failure log

login on-success log

late answer, but it might help newer readers which searches through this thread.
