CISCO ACS 5.7 Upgrade

Good Morning; I am in the process of upgrading our ACS 5.6 VM servers to ACS 5.7. The ISO File, 5.7 Tar, and Base Patch works fine. The issue  we are running into appears to be after each cumulative patch upgrade. The "Show Application Status ACS" displays that half the process are in a "not monitored" state. (management, View-job manager, View-alert manager, and View log-processor). The remaining services are in a running status.  Performing "Stop and Start ACS" nor "Reload" resolves the issue. I am Inquiring on what I can do next. Thank you very much in advance

Thank you;

Yes, I did check the disk allocation (which was fine) and did stop, and restart ACS several times.

Appreciate the comments.

Hi,

By doing patch installation, services always get restarted. However, sometimes services didn't come up properly so in order to make services available again.

we do apply stop and start or reload of ACS.

Make sure, you are having proper disk allocation on ACS 5.7.

Hope it helps!!!

Hi,

Sometimes while re-starting services get stuck and are not running so we toggle services or reload ACS to make it work.

Thanks,

Wondering why you would upgrade to 5.7 and not 5.8. You can directly upgrade to ACS 5.8

ACS 5.8 is the only ACS release for which EOS has not yet been announced and has most active patch activity. Release itself has been around for about a year

Hello;

Appreciate your response.

Our section has incrementally upgraded our ACS servers with each release since version 5.3 and never experienced any issues. We were approved to go to 5.7 and will eventually go to 5.8 sometime. The problem is, (from what we read about ACS 5.8) is that the same issues are found in version 5.8 when it comes to process not running or "not monitored".  The bug is CsCuz24101 " After reload ACS, management process does not run properly".

Great; Thank you!

Will research and pass this on to my engineer team.

Appreciate the help

Do you know if bug CsCuz24101 in 5.8 has been identified in 5.7 also?

Hi Timothy,

No it's not.
