Cisco ISE License reuse

Hi All,

I have an requirement from one of my customer to reuse the license of the existing environment. Here the requirement is like we are going to install New ISE for which new licenses will be procured. Apart from that customer wants to break the existing license for eg suppose customer as 10000 base, 8000 plus & 6000 apex license.

Here customer wants to migrate the users to the NEW ISE suppose 5000 endpoints are migrated then he wants to migrate the 5000 base ,4000 plus & 3000 apex by breaking/migrating license from the existing license to the New ISE

Is it possible to do it ?

Hi,

If the customer buys new appliances (physical/virtual) for an existing deployment, no new license needs to be bought. The same existing license applies to the entire deployment no matter if you add new appliances. (assuming the existing license is enough)

For the migration part, you have to ask licensing@cisco.com

I would suggest you as well to include into the license a THE SECONDARY UDI so if primary PAN is damaged you can promote the secondary and avoid any license issue.
