Hi
We are very close to purchasing Cisco ISE but I need to justify why I should choose it, specifcally over Microsoft NPS (which is free).
Can anyone advise me on the benefits or possible issues that they may have encountered, with either product.
Thanks
Simom

Are you just wanting basic 802.1x authentication or will you also want to do posture assessment? What about guest/BYOD access?

Hi, sorry for the delay I have been out of the office.
I think initially I was looking at 802.1x to secure wired connections and NPS is more than capable of this but
I have some reservations about the moniotoring troubleshooting of issues within NPS, specifically as I have different switches including Cisco, Juniper, HP and just the general interaction/setup
I have been looking at ISE (evaulation) and like to the functionality as its similar to ACS which I already have.
It also seems to me that when you go beyond the basics, dot1x etc Cisco ISE comes into its own
What I really want is a list of can/can't do. So I can compare the two and ultimately get someone to sigh off on the product
