Cisco SNS-3495-K9 Hardware appliance automatic restart after power failure

Good day,

Cisco SNS-3495-K9 Hardware appliance automatic restart after power failure

We have a client that has a distributed deployment of SNS-3495-K9 Hardware appliances and when there is a power failure, the servers do not boot up automatically, the servers are in a standby mode, the power button light is orange, to bring the hardware appliance online you have to phyically press the power button. Is there a way to set these servers to boot automatically, without having a cimc link.

Regards,

Nitesh.

If you have physical access to the SNS appliances, then you might be able to do it via the BIOS, but you need a monitor and keyboard to try that. CIMC has it though.

Yeah - it's easiest via the CIMC CLI

ssh to the CIMC and then change the scope to /cimc/power-restore-policy

isecimc01# scope cimc/power-restore-policy

Out of the box it's like this

isecimc01 /cimc/power-restore-policy # show detail
Power Restore Policy:
Power Restore Policy: power-off
Power Delay Type: fixed
Power Delay Value(sec): 0

And you can change it

isecimc01 /cimc/power-restore-policy # set
cli CLI options
delay-type Power Delay Type
delay-value Power Delay Value(sec)
policy Power Restore Policy

isecimc01 /cimc/power-restore-policy # set policy power-on
