Ciso ISE 2.3 Configuration - allowed characters and field lengths

Hello Cisco Support Community,

while tryjng to bring our ISE 2.1 deployment to 2.3 we failed because we had a failure:

Failure: Failed to upgrade reusable condition, error= Failed to addCompoundLibraryCondition: <CONDITION-NAME>,reason: Library Condition Description Length is Invalid. A simple (relativ long) input into the description field has now in 2.3 become too long.

Now I am wondering whether there is an overview of the allowed characters and the field lengths of ISE 2.3.

Does anyone of you have any information about it?

I didn't find any documentation on that so I tried to save a new condition with a long description on 2.3P1. It didn't work with 260 characters, but it worked with 250. Somewhere between that should be the limit.

thank you for testing the limit of the description field. Our old description was 270 characters long, so the limit is somewhere in that range. I still think, a overview over all field lengths could be helpful.



However, this would not solve the problem that Cisco jsimply changes the field length from one version to another and put the customers into Difficulties.
