Bug information:
Symptom: Currently ISE checks for Product Name or system-product to contain KVM in the dmidecode output for the ISE to be installed and if not, it won't allow installation with the error Unable to find Cisco UDI information. This is a request to allow ISE installation on Red Hat Hypervisors as well which have the Product name in dmidecode output as "RHEV Hypervisor"
Conditions: ISE installation
Workaround: none
This bug is also affecting ISE (and other virtual appliance) installations on Red Hat OpenShift (where the output is Container-native virtualization). Understanding that Container-native virtualization is KVM, will Cisco change the installation script to look for this string in addition to "KVM"?
Alternatively, does anybody in the community know how to configure this string in OpenShift to output "KVM"?

Have you tried it and then faced this bug?
If the BU doesn't reply here (I hope that they do!) then I would ask Cisco directly (via your account contacts if you have any), and also perhaps via the Webex ISE Bar Community.
I get the impression that the Cisco BU tests ISE under very specific conditions, and perhaps they have constrained it artificially to limit the amount of permutations they might get into. ISE works on other KVM (e.g. Proxmox), therefore theoretically it should work on others. But Cisco might not guarantee how well it works, unless they themselves are happy with their own testing.

Have contacted my Cisco rep a well as Red Hat. Red Hat is reaching out to Cisco directly to work on this. Also, working with Red Hat, we were able to get an ISE VM (version 3.2) installed on OpenShift by changing the SMBIOS string presented to the VM. However, this is a platform wide change, so all VMs running on the platform will see "KVM" rather than "Container-native virtualization", so we cannot use this in production. We do have an RFE open with Red Hat to allow the string to be changed on a per-VM level.
