Hi,
My Pix firewall is vpn disabled. I got the new authentication key from cisco for enabling the vpn. I am planning to upgrade. Below are the steps i intend to do.
Can you guide me weather the steps are correct
1) Boot the Pix in the monitor mode through hyperterminal
2) type the address of the server where the ios is present(tftp)
3) type the address of the internal ip of the pix
4) type the file name pix614.bin
5) then type tftp
It is will start copying the file
Then the pix askes
Do you want to instal the new image(y/n) y
Do you want to give new authenication key(y/n)y
Type the authentication key
once the key is correct the pix accepts
After this when i reboot the pix in normal mode will the confiuration files be saved? after booting the pix in normal mode should i write mem on the pix.
If there are any mistakes please adivce me how to do this successfully
Thanks in Advance

You save your config before you boot into monitor mode.
Once you have upgraded, your config should still be the same.

Thanks a lot. The existing confiuration with the ios 5.2(1) is already saved in the memory. Any how i will wr mem once before booting the firewall in the monitor mode. Is the rest everthing correct or should i do some thing else also.
Thanks
