Hello,

I want to reset an ISE (release 2.4) device to factory default.

Though I was able to find cisco document on performing system erace of ISE 2.1,

(https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/2-1/install_guide/b_ise_InstallationGuide21/b_ise_InstallationGuide21_chapter_0101.html#task_2A5BEFDCDBDF4D9CBA3CB5C817C516DE)

don't know how to reset an ISE 2.4.

Also, i would like to know what 'the Cisco ISE Software DVD' is....

Thank you and have a nice day.

You can use the command “application reset-config ise”.

thank you very much for your reply!

but i cant seem to find cisco document for that command...

application reset-config - is not the same as a factory default as it will retain your ip addressing information as well as ask you if you would like to retain certificates.

Im assuming this is a VM deployment, you will need to boot from .iso file , which may be obtained on Cisco CCO.

Hi, thank you for your reply!

Noted that I will need to boot from .iso file to reset ISE to factory default.

I assume I might have to burn .iso to DVD...?

Then i have to insert THAT DVD after confirming that the Cisco ISE appliance is powered up..?

Thank you for your reply!

Is the following procedure the same after inserting USB?

Yes it is

Thank you very much for your support!
