ISE 2.4.0357 patch 8 software and SNS3515-K9 question

Hi!

We have Cisco ISE 2 Node and we have SNS3515-K9. We are using it for our Wireless 802.1x. We had plus licenses but they expired couple of years ago as we never needed them after that and we didnt renewed them.

We just do wireless 802.1x and now we are planning for wired 802.1x as well. I dont think we require plus license for it but we will see if we buy handful plus license for something.

We are running 2.4.0357 patch 8 so may question is that are we eligible to download new version that is supported on our hardware which is SNS3515-K9. What version I can jump to for this?

Secondly SNS3515-K9 is also EOL this year. Does anyone know we can do some tradeup to new model with some price estimate.

I dont want to go to sales people as if I dont get back to them then I feel bad just wasting their time.

Thanks

Hi @Capricorn , I was checking your question and you can go to ISE 3.0 version, please review the following guidelines and confirm that your environment has the requirements for hardware posted here  https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/3-0/install_guide/b_ise_InstallationGuide30/b_ise_InstallationGuide30_chapter_2.html

Guidelines for upgrade process https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/3-0/upgrade_guide/HTML/b_upgrade_method_3_0.html

You have to be aware of the licensing changes in the scheme of licensing for ISE 3.X versions, for that review the following video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMTyUiWgtv0

About your second question, to upgrade your gear please contact your Cisco accounting/sales team to review with them that.

Let me know if that helped you.

This video provides an overview of ISE licensing for ISE 3.X versions, the requirements to register a deployment successfully and an example of registration. Cisco ISE Licensing Guide: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/identity-services-engine/ise-licensing-guide-og.html
