ISE 2.4 DASHBOARD AND DASHLETS EMPTY

Hello I just installed Cisco ISE version 2.4.0.357 on a VMware enviroment and I have successfuly configured and tested AAA tacacs+ authentication, authorization and accounting between a cisco 3750 switch and the ISE. When I see the logs on ISE I can confirm that it is working however on the dashboard I can´t see any statistics other than Alarms and System Summary on their respectives dashlets. can someone provide me with some guidance on this?

Hi Alan,

First thing that comes to mind is your browser.  Not sure if you've tried already, but delete your cache and see if that resolves the issue.  We've seen on a couple occasions where viewing the dashboard in older versions of ISE then accessing the latest version can cause issues.

Regards,

hello Tim

I tried what you suggested I just went to Chrome and Internet Explorer and deleted the cache I also made sure that both browsers are versions that are supposed to be supported by ISE 2.4. I have also tried to customize my dashboard and add some dashlets like location, device type, identity group and so on because I was thinking since I created those parameters in order to make AAA tacacs+ work they should also be displayed but the dashlets show "no data available".

Another think that came to my mind is that maybe some services on the ISE are not running so I connected via CLI and did a show application status ISE and everything is running except the DHCP server and DNS server which I dont think they have to do with my problem, any ideas?

Hi Alan,

I did a quick search to find out if there are any known defects in this functionality and did not find any hits. You may need to work with TAC and troubleshoot live to understand what is going on.

Hi Alan,

One additional point to remember - The dashlets (authentication, Network Devices etc..) indicate/increment only with Radius transactions & hence you may not be seeing the TACACS transactions in the dashboard dashlets.

Yes, doing some more research I also read that the statstics on authentication dashlet are exlusively for endpoints who have gained network access and that are showing activity through radius accounting and that would explain why I can´t see any authentication info since my configuration is just for device administration purposes and not for network access where i should go with radius as you pointed out.
