Dear all,

A reseller implemented ISE test licenses in a customer network environment, they have now expired. Customer has baught new live licenses from us.

Question:

Do the test licenses become live licenses or do the reseller have to do the implementation of ISE once again?

BR

Andreas

You do not need to re-install ISE but just import the license you have purchased.

You may import the license at

Amdinistration > System > Licensing

You will see "Import Licenses"

Have a look at here regarding updating licensing from Evaluation.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/ise/2-4/admin_guide/b_ise_admin_guide_24/b_ise_admin_guide_24_new_chapter_0110.html

One suggestion I have would be to check the resource / build of the VM's. If the evaluation OVA was deployed then the CPU reservation will be less than you want for production. It should have 16GB of ram, same as a 3515, but I believe that the cpu lower bounds are 2300 mhz, not 12000/16000 as suggested.

Also confirm the disk size provisioned, the evaluation ova is 200 GB which is not recommended for a production PAN/MNT node. It would be fine to convert to a PSN, but it is usually recommended to have a 250-300 GB disk for a dedicated PAN, and 600+ GB for MNT nodes.

No need for re-impementation. Just put the license and continue working.
