Local Authentication For Internet connection

Hi all ciscoer,

It;s possible to have a PIX authenticate the internal user before going to internet passing through PIX. PIX software 6.2 (2). I know we can used the Tacacs+ or Radius. What if not. Can we put the user name n password inside the PIX itself?

Any sample link would be great.

Hi,

For the pass-thru traffic for PIX, you cannot use the local user database. Local userdatabase can only be used for managing the PIX Firewall.

So there is nothing I can do for proxy authentication unless using the Tacacs+ or Radius?
