Question - ISE SNS-3600 series Appliances - Do they support the addition of a PCI SFP/SFP+ NIC?

Can we support a customer adding in a PCI 1Gb or 10Gb Fiber NIC in the SNS-3600 series chassis? Is this supported under ISE 2.6?

Can they add to the empty PCI Riser slot or do they need to replace the existing 4-port Copper PCI NIC?

In general, any hardware modifications to the SNS appliances are not supported. The linux OS and/or ISE application would also likely not have drivers or be able to use the updated hardware.

If the customer needs fiber connectivity, they would likely need to purchase baremetal servers like the UCS-Series and run ISE virtual appliances on top of a hypervisor like VMware or Hyper-V.

I would suggest capturing the customer information and request the ISE PM team to add them to any additional customers that have requested this for future platform consideration.

Cheers,

Greg
