Hello,

My customer is planning on turning on "Device Sensor" on the access switches and he is planning on using ISE 2.2 for that.

Is there any recommended IOS version to be running on the access switches?

Thanks,

Sanjay

Hi Sanjay,

Please have a look at the ISE 2.2 compatibility matrix.  The matrix used to have a "recommended" code version but that has now been changed to "validated."  You could also reference the code version listed on cisco.com as the one flagged as most stable.  It typically has a gold star beside it. Hope that helps.

Thanks Tim for the answer. Also, do you know if has any huge impact on the cpu cycle of the ISE server and the switch involved?

No, there shouldn't be any CPU impact on either system.  Device Sensor is actually a more efficient method for profiling because it send DHCP, CDP, LLDP information over RADIUS.
