Do you any reference on pxgrid v1 and v2, or does this apply to a specific version of ISE?

pxGrid is first introduced in ISE 1.3 so V1 is available since then.
ISE 2.3 started pxGrid V2 but ANC and dynamic topics are not available until ISE 2.4.
jeppich is working on a how-to for pxGrid V2 along with updating the TDM for pxGrid.

Hey Michael,
What type of information are you looking for? If looking from a development perspective, you can go to: www.cisco.com/go/pxgridpartner , there you will find information on pxGrid (1.0) and pxGrid (2.0)
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
As mentioned earlier, v2 runs in Active/active mode on ISE, and I wanted to know more about this.

Hi John,
I'm just confused - hslai wrote that V2 runs as active/active, and V1 runs as active/standby. The whole issue arised when I was configuring pxGrid in FMC, so that it would connect to ISE.
During configuration of the identity source in FMC, it tests both nodes. But since pxGrid services, runs as Running/Disable, the test failes on the secondary node, therefore it distorts my sens of logic Reading through pxGrid documentation, it states that, even pxGrid is not running on the secodary node, it is still listening on certain ports, but thats not good enough for FMC.
I've tried to failover my ISE nodes, and promote the secondary to primary, and after a couple of minutes pxGrid is running on this node, but I'm still a bit off about the whole active/active setup from FMC perspective.
Best regards,
Michael

Hey Michael,
FMC has implemented pxGrid 1.0, and thus you have Active-Standby between the pxGrid nodes. FMC has not implemented pxGrid 2.0, so there is no Active-Active failover between the pxGrid nodes.
Thanks,
John

Thanks John, didn't think that FMC only ran v1 of pxGrid. Any plans for the Firepower team to use v2?

Michael
