Currently we have several ISE nodes in a distributed deployment. We will be adding more ISE nodes in the future. When registering new ISE nodes, you're prompted for FQDN, username, and password. Unfortuately I don't know the usernames and passwords of the original ISE nodes that were deployed since we had an outside contractor set up them for us. Is there a way I can retrieve them?

No you can't - You can reset the existing or create another "Super Admin" Account to register new secondary boxes if you have privileges to create one. Creating ISE Admin Account

Adding to Jatin's correct answer - if you don't have any admin account, you can recover/reset the overall admin account password by rebooting the ISE PAN and having installation media on hand to boot from. One of the bootup options is password recovery.
The exact procedure varies slightly on old style hardware (Cisco branded IBM server based) vs new UCS style appliances (UCS-based) vs VM-based deployment.
