When customer is trying to add them to my device portal he is getting an error No record found. Also unable to add them manually. Please help on how can he add these devices?

There is some confusion here about the term "My Devices"

1) In the ISE world, the term refers to a portal that is hosted on a PSN node that allows BYOD users to manage their endpoints.  This is an ISE application feature.  You have confused two things here.  But yet, in ISE BYOD world you can manage endpoints in the My Devices portal.  You only add endpoint info like MAC address and name etc.  No certs are managed.

2) In the broader Cisco world My Devices is a Cisco public web portal that is used to manage the life cycle of Cisco hardware. https://cway.cisco.com/mydevices/devices

The original posting must have referred to the https://cway.cisco.com/mydevices/devices because the user talked about adding ISE virtual appliances.  If these had been SNS hardware appliances then the serial numbers would have been known to Cisco at time of manufacturing and hence you can add them to your portal.

Great question - I tried doing that just now too and it occurred to me that the serial number needs to be linked to a support contract (ours isn't), hence, if it's not linked then the tool will probably not recognise it.  Also, since the VM's create pseudo-random serial numbers, these serial number cannot be known to Cisco at time of manufacturing (since there are random).

I would say that if the ISE VM is linked to a valid support contract then this tool should find the serial - if it doesn't then submit a request via the tool Feedback button on the top right (icon of a megaphone).

Let us know how you get on :)

Hi Arne

Thank You for your reply however is it true that VMs do not go in the MyDevice Portal & Only Endpoints (MACs, Iphones, Android, etc) can be added to MyDevice Portal?
