wireless autentication

Hi,

I want to enable  dot1x authentication for wireless users for lab computers, so multiple users share the computers.

when first-time users login to the computers it creates the profile and it takes a long time.

So I will create a  local user and when they want to access the network they should provide credentials.

Is it possible to use cisco anyconnect mobility client?

Thanks

An AD admin creates specific username/passwords.  Users use given AD account to log in to the computers.

At each state, the VLAN assignment of the network does not change -- Computer is still sitting in one VLAN.

That is not Dot1X but basic AD stuff.

Hi @Leo Laohoo

Thank you for the reply. I think I could not convey my requirement properly. Sorry for that

The profile I discussed in my first post is not the device profile.  It is a windows user profile.

The issue I am facing here, when a new user tried to log in, windows building a user profile for the user.

Since it is wireless it is taking a lot of time, behind windows download apps  while creating the profile

So my solution is, add a common local user in all Windows PCs,

when a  user wants to use the computer, he will not go through the normal windows login process.

(Meaning  the user will use the common username and password to login the computer )

To access  network resources he has to  submit his credentials  using cisco anyconnect like  wired dot1x authentication

Thanks

AnyConnect NAM has the following options for user credentials:

  • Use Single Sign On Credentials
  • Prompt for Credentials
    • Remember Forever
    • Remember while User is Logged On
    • Never Remember
  • Use Static Credentials

I would suggest you to go ahead and try it out between the option "Remember while User is Logged On" and the option "Never Remember".
