Hi,

Initially all my clients are Window 98 users and they have no problem mapping their drive after successfully dialin to my company domain. The login script execute qutomatically after their username and password is authenticate via ACS.

Currently, I have users in XP and Windows 2000 client and they are able to login to the domain but the login script cannot be executed and they have to manuallly map to their domain drive.

Is there a way to allow the login script to execute for XP and Windows 2000 dialup users?

A few things you can check:

1) Ensure that you have the basic Microsoft connectivity.

- On the device your VPN Client is connecting through, make sure the Client

for Microsoft networks, File and Print Sharing, and NetBUEI over TCP is checked.

2) Ensure that the domain name is correct.

3) Ensure that you are permitted to join the domain.

The 2k and XP clients use the start before logon option i.e they log in initially for the day and the tunnel comes up, when they log into the domain they have login scripts that run everytime on the initial connection. However, the problem is when a computer is rebooted or someone logs off then logs back on within a few minutes they can login, but the login scripts don't run. What is the version that you are using? Please upgrade to the latest version of the client. You could also try removing the ACS server and having direct authentication and checking if everything works fine.

Hi,

I have enable the 3 items that you have ask me to.

Below are the test that I have done:

1) Ask user to login to domain using LAN, see that the script is running-This will ensure that the user laptop have script enable in the first place.

2)Reboot laptop, Press ctrl+alt+del to login, VPN client pop up, login to VPN client, internet dialup pop up, login to internet acct.

3)Seems like everything goes through, but script not run and drive not mapped.

Below are some queries:

1)What can be wrong? Have you done VPN client with XP before?

2)The VPN client pop up everytime we reboot the laptop, is there a way to counter this?

For your assistance, pls.
