I am a new network admin with little experience. I just got a cisco 2811 and I can't get into the console. Was wondering if there is a way around it?

Hi,
Can you elaborate?Are you talking about accessing the router via the actual console port via serial cable? Are you being presented with credentials which is stopping you getting access, or you getting no output at all?

Yes I'm connecting to the console port with a serial cable, but I don't get anything. It is like it isn't connecting to the router at all.

What application are you using to open your connection to the device?
Do you have another device you can test console access to with the same cable/application?
