2821 console port not responding.

I have two 2821 cisco routers im currently using for my homelab. Yesterday i was configuring the first one, i swapped the console cable to config the second one and when i swapped back to the first one it didnt respond at all. I rebooted it, tried all possible baud rates going from 75 all the way to 256000 without success. I also replaced the console cable to see if that might be the problem - no success. Removed the lids on both routers and swapped the boards that connect to the motherboard on one end and to the console port on the other - the first router was still not responding, while the second one worked perfectly with the board from the first one. So the physically the console port itself is not dead for sure.
In the meantime i noticed the first one is taking commands, so i erased and reloaded it and blindly enabled telnet, which works just fine. I checked the running config, cuz i was playing with the "no exec" command the other day, but there's nothing under "line con 0", which was pointed out as the most common reason why this might happen.

So basically the console port takes commands but doesnt echo.

I also wanna point out i can't see anything, nor rommon nor boot nor anything else.

I assume its a hardware related problem, but im not absolutely sure.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

possible reason you have mentioned that "no exec" you were playing could be the reason not accept any commands.

can you clarify that, are you able to see the boot process on the console ? or nothing ?

suggest to reset to factory default and start over, since its LAB

if you got telnet access please post below output :

show ver

show run | begin line con

show line

BB

It seems that one GD75232 SSOP circuit, responsible for the IO, was dead. Tried replacing it and this time i got to see the output, however the input was not working..the following attempts to fix it completely destroyed the contact pins. Just some quick information for those that cant identify the problem.
