2960X Stacks in PI 2.1

One of our sites has multiple stacks of 2960X switches. If a switch in a stack dies there is no alarm generated and the only indication (apart from the phone ringing) is a switch-n left the stack log message. Am I missing something or is this a functionality gap?

Can someone point me at a newbie tutorial on how to generate an alert from the syslogs as a workaround?

It's a functionality gap.

Unfortunately PI does not support automated actions on the basis of syslog events.

About the best you can do currently is to elevate that message to level 0-2 and watch for those via a dashlet.
