bandwidth monitoring

Cisco ASR, having internet 100 mbps link, we monitor
this interface in prtg, in prtg under 60-Min & 30 Sec Interval
it shows normal utilization e.g. for out - 25 to30 mbps & for in - 20 to 25 mbps.

but when i change scanning interval time in prtg
from 30 sec to 1 sec, it shows for out - 250 mbps
& for IN - 155 mbps.

similarly in juniper devices:
when i set 1 sec interval in prtg, it shows as
35,000 kbps in
when i set 30 sec interval in prtg it shows as
6 to 7 mbps

can any body what & why this discrepancy ?? why data showing very high if I choose 1 sec interval in prtg. it showing beyond the capacity of link also. what is logic behind it.

is there load-interval related to this on cisco devices.??

how then bandwidth is monitored, how it is evaluated, can any body suggest me some documents plzz

You need to configure the "load-interval" in the physical interface to match that of PRTG.

In my opinion, 1s is far too excessive.  I would not do anything less than 30s.
