BGP load balancing with a different subnet

Hi

I am a user who is having two service provider connections to a single router at my location.

I have configured load balancing between two service providers with BGP.

Suppose my head office network is 192.168.100.0/24 and i am learning that from both SP's

However one SP is sending full routing table and the other is sending 192.168.0.0/16 summary route.

Will load balancing work with this set up??? currently this is not working and i have a doubt that is because of the summary route. But i don't know what is the exact reason for that.

Please help me :)

Hi,

Generally, the longest prefix-match is on the top of the list for best path selection. As a result, if you have 192.168.100.0/24 and 192.168.0.0/16, the traffic always chooses the path to the longest match route.

You can post your bgp configuration and the IP route learned from the two ISPs so that we could suggest possible alternatives.
