Can't Uninstall IDU 8.0

Hi,

I'm having trouble uninstalling IDU 8.o. I get the following error :

# ./restoreRMEidu.pl

Do you really want to uninstall IDU (Y/N) Y

Error: Back up file (/opt/CSCOpx/backup/idu/rme/3.5.0.tar) for IDU 3.5.0

does not exist.

Error: Cannot uninstall IDU.

INFO: But, you can uninstall RME 3.5. For instructions, see Installation and

Setup Guide for RME 3.5.#

I've tried creating a blank tar file but to no avail, any ideas ?

During the install of the IDU, you are asked if you would like to back up the files (in case you want to un-install later). Two things:

- either you did not back them up

- the back up failed

Moving forward, you can un-install all of RME if you like, or simply install the newest IDU (12.0)

Thanks for the response. The problem is that we can't uninstall IDU 8.0 the uninstal script won't let up proceeed with out the tar file. We can't install IDU 12 as it requires IDU 5.0 to be installed.

But IDU 5.0 is also a pre-requisite of IDU 8.0

Thus, you already have IDU 5.0 installed

That's what I thought but for some reason the patch install script isn't seeing it, which is why I can't install IDU 12.0....catch 22 !

Try this then:

- re-install IDU 5.0

- re-install LMS 2.2 Update 1

- re-install IDU 8.0

- install IDU 12.0

Hi,

Tried that one as well, IDU 5.0 script complains about having a newer version IDU already installed IDU 8.0. I'm thinking of backing up RME, uninstalling it and then reinstalling, patching and resoring from backup.
