Cannot Login to LMS 4.2 via web after new install

I can login into the console just fine but if I try and login into the server via the web http://ip:1741 it tells me invalid username or password.

During setup I left the username default and set the password. Then it asked me for the password to login to the web but it never asked me the username to use. I need some help since I have to set this up very soon.

was this a clean install or migration?  the default username is admin.

that was it, no where in the install docs did I see where the default username was going to be admin. During setup it told me that the password was going to be used for the web but didnt say anything about the username. This was a VMware clean install.
