CBS-350 series unresponsive Web Interface

Hello everyone,

I have an installation consisting of two CBS-350 switches:

CBS350-24P-4X

CBS350-24T-4G

They both run on firmware 3.4.0.17. They are not stacked and no special configuration has been made.

The problem is that when I access them via a web browser, I get very frequently a notification saying that the page is unresponsive, as indicated in the image attached.

Has anyone had this problem before?

@PanosT

If you keep a ping running, does it drop any packet during this behavior? Any CPU spike?

If connectivity is fine, this is probably a bug. As you are at the latest firmware, I would try to downgrade to 3.3.0.16. Or wait for a new release to come up.

So I have no loss of packets at all. Trying to see what's the cpu utilization from the web interface wouldn't return anything. So I tried connecting via an ssh terminal and issue the "show cpu utilization" command. The command returned nothing and after a minute the console was getting stuck and I was getting this error cisco terminal.png

You dont have this on your dashboard?

Hello Flavio. Sorry about that. I was trying to get this info from Status and Statistics> CPU Utilization.

So looking into this tab the CPU usage is going all the way from 1% to 45-50%. This spikes happen frequently. Is this normal?

Up to 50% it is. It would be a problem if the spike gets closer to 100%.

Ok, so it should be fine. Apart from these my general setup includes a pfsense router that handles 7 VLANs. I need to have a static IP on 3 of them (one for the management, one for Bonjour protocol, and one to act as an IGMP querier). Could the multiple IPv4 interface cause this issue?

Dont thing so. Take care with spanning-tree. Make sure this is enabled on the switches.

It's enabled on both switches with these config

If you can, I would downgrade the switch for testing purpose. This could eliminate the possibility of bug on this version.

Ok yes I can try. The version 3.3.0.16 is stable?

It is. As per cisco site.

It fails to downgrade getting this error messages
