Hi there,

1)

I have manually uploaded a list of devices into the Cisco Active Advisor and gotten the result of the EOL for the devices.

There are two WS-6509-E switches deployed. Below is a few details of the "show inventory" command output for both of the switches:

S1#sh inventory
NAME: "WS-C6509-E", DESCR: "Cisco Systems Catalyst 6500 9-slot Chassis System"

NAME: "1", DESCR: "WS-SVC-FWM-1 6 ports Firewall Module Rev. 4.1"

S2#sh inventory
NAME: "WS-C6509-E", DESCR: "Cisco Systems, Inc. Catalyst 6500 9-slot Chassis System"

NAME: "1", DESCR: "WS-SVC-FWM-1 6 ports Firewall Module Rev. 3.3"

Both of the switch have Firewall Module in them.

The result of the Cisco Active Advisor for the switches is:

S1 = WS-C6509-E-FWM-K9

S2 = WS-C6509-E

Why does S2 output do not display its Firewall Module when it actually have the module in the "show inventory"?

2)

A Smart Assessment Discovery was done and the output for the switches model is different than the actual switches running.

The Smart Assessment Discovery displayed:

S1 = WS-C6509

S2 = WS-C6509

The actual model of the switch is WS-C6509-E, but why is the Smart Assessment Discovery displaying it as WS-C6509?

WS-C6509 is already at its End-of-Support, but the WS-C6509-E is not yet End-of-Support.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
