Cisco Network Assistant C4948E

Greetings,

I'm experiencing considerable difficulties with CNA and my 4948E cat's.  Front panel view, vLans and VTP utterly fail...and I have gone to GREAT lengths.  I initially configured them all for comprehensive use in a vSphere environment.  Storage switch fabric and multi-vlan guest networking.  I wiped the config's across the board, factory reset all of them in an attampt to get CNA working.  NO GO and it's been wildly frustrating, 80+ hrs spent with no results.

So is CNA truely compatible with the 4948e?  And if so, WHAT IN THE HELL AM I DOING WRONG!!?!?!?!!!!!?

Here's a zip of the CNA log...

Wow, not A SINGLE SOLITARY RESPONSE.

CIsco?  Hello??  Anyone home????

When I called TAC they told me that I could find my answer here.

Does anyone at Cisco have a clue?  Have I not provided enough information?

I just tried with the latest IOS 15 and 12 (below) and neither made any difference...getting the exact same errors. This is crazy.

cat4500e-entservicesk9-mz.151-2.SG.bin
cat4500e-entservicesk9-mz.122-54.SG1.bin

Here are all the IOS versions I've tried, all of which exhibit the exact same errors:

cat4500e-entservicesk9-mz.122-54.SG1.bin
cat4500e-entservicesk9-mz.151-1.SG2.bin
cat4500e-entservicesk9-mz.151-2.SG.bin
cat4500e-entservices-mz.151-1.SG1.bin

Hi David,

Extreamly sorry to the late response.

Could you please share the version of CNA which you are using, it will help us to address the problem.

Thank you

Regards,

Srikanth Achanta

I dont see any relevance to the version of CNA I'm using considering I got the exact same behavior with every version of CNA since support for the 4948E was added...and that it happenes on all four of my 4948E's.  The hardest part of replicating this for you all should be getting your hands on a 4948E.

The very latest version...5.8(2)

AND because you could simply get the version from the COMPREHENSIVE CNA log bundle I attached....

Hi David,

Could you please share the "show inventory" output once again.

Thank you

Regards,

Srikanth Achanta

Can you at least share the results of your lab testing?  It couldn't take more then 81 seconds to test this with a 4948E....ok MAYBE 82.5 seconds.  I'm not asking for a holy grail answer, just about what you've seen in the lab so far...

So what has your testing shown so far?

Hi David,

I am not having device, trying hard to get device access to test. Please give me two days more time to figureout the issue.

Thank you

Regards,

Srikanth Achanta

I gingerly poked through CNA's java, found the issue and fixed it...I even created a new gif with the correct E-E moniker.  The attached file is bigger then the embedded image...
