Cisco Prime 3.8 on VMware ESXi 8.0

Hi Everyone,

our server team is planning the ESXi upgrade from 7.0 to 8.0. Will that still support our current CPI 3.8 version?? Asking because link below indicates support only up to ESXi 7.0. But maybe that compatibility matrix was created before the version 8.0 was made available..

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/3-8/quickstart/guide/bk_Cisco_Prime_Infrastructure_3_8_0_Quick_Start_Guide.html

Thanks in advance

yes that means Cisco not tested on 8.0

Personally there is not much change in esxi 7.0 to 8.0(other than some advanced features added)

if i were you - i will install PI 3.10 on esxi 8.0 and test the installation and Migrate 3.8 config to 3.10

Thanks @balaji.bandi - much appreciated. We actually found out that this CPI v3.8 is already running on ESXi ver 8.0 so, yes - maybe not tested by Cisco but seems to work just fine.

We are slowly moving away from CPI and moving to DNAC but it will take time, so indeed - an upgrade to 3.10 sounds like a good idee anyway. Thanks a lot! Cheers
