Cisco switches not keeping time

I have Cisco switches running a virtual environment and time is off.  What is interesting is how off the time is on each machine they are all different and drastic.  They are pointing to a Linux DB machine that has the correct time, when I change the time in the bios on the server it doesnt keep.  Any ideas?

By "swiches running in a virtual environment" do you mean you are running Cisco Modeling Lab (CML aka VIRL) setup? Or something else?

By "point to" do you mean that they are set to use the Linux host as an NTP server? If so, do they ever associate and synchronize?

I apologize for the confusion there not switches its all servers and yes they are pointed to the Linux server as NTP.  I haven't inherited this issue while another SA is out.  where do I set them to synchronize?

So what kind of servers are we talking about? Cisco UCS? What models?

What OS (or hypervisor system) if any do they have?

The answer varies widely according to what is in the environment.

UCS C240's the virtual machines are running windows 7
