Hello,

Is there a way to monitor a single interface on a device and in case it goes down I get an email alert ?

Yes configure the notification services and ensure the device is managed under DFM.

Yes..

Go to DFM > Device details > enter the ip and select it > click on the device > you have options to select the IP, interfaces, Card etc...

Click on the interfaces and you have option to make it as True/False means enable/disable to monitor...

Based on which you will get the alerts in Dfm..

If you want Dfm to notify you through email, you can do it in notification groups and create an group, select the device. Then go to email notification and create a new object and add email address "from and to ".
