The process that's showing the bulk of that is "Cat4k Mgmt LoPri". SNMP queries will tax that process.

By default SolarWinds NPM tries to manage (and will query statistics for) every interface on a switch when you add it in. I'd go in and turn off monitoring of all but the critical interfaces and see if that fixes the issue.

Many thanks Marvin, after changing the SNMP for only SUP it been reduced to 60%, so how we monitor the other interface..

do we need to update the IOS etc...

once again thanks

Upgrading your IOS would be a good idea. I see you are running 12.2(53) from 2009. It may not help with the CPU utilization; but there are many bug fixes and enhancements since your IOS was released.

Assuming you have support, I would recommend an upgrade to the current Cisco-recommended version = IOS 15.2.2(E4) (for Sup 6 and earlier) or IOS-XE 3.6.3E (for Sup 7 and later).

many thanks, will perform an upgrade and see the results
