Ciscoworks 4.0, netconfig job, add instance problem

I'm trying to make an adhoc job to some devices in ciscoworks.  I select netconfig jobs, select the devices I want to do a change to, and then select add instance, I get a new browser window saying loading and nothing more happens.

I cannot create the config lines I want to perform to my switches.  I just want to change the vtp domain name to the switches, but cannot do this due to the blank browser window saying loading.

Anyone know anything about this?

What browser are you using?  What happens if you try a different browser (or a different client)?  Post the netconfigclient.log.

Hi,

I've tried Internet Explorer 6.0 (know it's not supported), Internet Explorer 8.0 and Mozilla Firefox 3.6.2. None of them works.

About the netconfigclient log, I'm not able to find it.  Have searched the whole disk on the Ciscoworks server, but no luck.

Where should the log be on the disk?

Attached is the netconfigclient file.

Post the NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/logs/stdout.log and stderr.log.  Just so I am clear on the problem, post screenshots showing exactly what you are doing and exactly what problem you see.

I want to make netconfig job to perform a CLI command (change the vtp domain for some switches).

Configration->Tools->NetConfig->Depoly

I click Create, select Device based and click Go. Under Device Selector I select the devices I want to make a change to, and under Task Selector I select  AdHoc.  Then I click Next.

Now I want to "Add Instance", but when I click Add Instance, a new browser window opens.  But this window is emtpy, see attached image.

Also attached the stderr.log and stdout.log.

Reproduce the problem, then go to https://163.174.12.17/cwhp/ThreadDump.jsp .  Wait a minute, then reload the page.  Post the output of both page loads.

Hope I did it correct :-)

attached both files.

Shutdown Daemon Manager, then delete all of the contents under NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/work/Standalone/localhost.  Restart Daemon Manager, and see if Netconfig works then.

Shut down deamon manager and deleted the files, but the problem still persists.

Same empty browser window.

Post the new thread dump output, stdout.log, and stderr.log.

Attached are the files, stderr and stdout.

One thing was mentioned to me this morning.  One of my collegues (has on vacation at the moment) did an update to the Ciscoworks, a week or two ago.

Not sure what he did, but I guess there is somewhere I can se the versions installed?

Maybe there is an update that will fix the problem?

Looks like you have a package problem.  The error finally came through in the stdout.log.  Post the list of contents under NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/rme/WEB-INF/lib/pkgs and NMSROOT/www/classpath/com/cisco/nm/xms/psu/pkgs/rme.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Attached are the requested files.

I just updated my LMS 4.0 device packages, and I cannot reproduce.  I then noticed your SharedNetconfigIOS.zip package is larger than mine.  I suspect it's corrupt.  Go to Admin > System > Software Center > Device Update, check the boxes next to Common Services and Inventory Config And Image Management and download and install all available packages.  If none are available, you will need to contact TAC to get an up-to-date package repository to correct this problem.  You can click the "Open Service Request" link in the Actions panel of this thread to capture everything we've done here if you have to open a service request.

Thanks Joseph.

I have done the download and installation of all available packages. But I still have the problem.

My account is not authorized to open a TAC, so I need to contact my supplier on monday to do this.
