Hi,

I have a Ciscoworks server running LMS 2.6 Version. I am facing problem with the Ciscoworks Backup. There is a schedule backup running everyday and at the end it is failing. When i checked the dbbackup.log file it is observed that backup failed with backup.lock file.I have deleted the backup.lock from the detination backup location and re-run the backup even after that backup is failing.

Please help me on this issue.

Thanks & Regds,

Lalit

Hi Lalit ,

I checked the log files and the only Error I found was this :

ERROR(293): H:/CWBackup/backup.LOCK file exists.

--Make sue the Folder where you are keeping  the Backup has appropoirate Premission (  Especially Casuser)

--Reset casuser : Go to Command Prompt : NMSROOT\CSCOpx\setup\support>resetCasuser.exe

--Now delete  the .LOCK file and Re-run the Backup

--attached the new dbbackup.log .if it fails again..

Hi Afroj,

The Backup folder has appropoirate Premission because all this days backup was working without any issues.Suddenly how come permission issue will come.

Is there chances that permission will get change automatically.

Thanks & Regds,

Lalit

--No it should Not ..

--But you can try Resetting the Casuser and deleting the .LOCK file

--then try the Backup..

Hi Afroj,

Yesterday i had rescheduled the ciscoworks backup and when i saw today and found, backup did not run.Under the Common Services--->Home-->Backup the status of the backup says not found or unable to detect. I have cheked the dbbackup.log file and found that no files been updated or any error in the file.

How do i check status of the backup.I am very sure that backup didnt run.

Thanks & Regds,

Lalit

Hi Lalit ,

Try to take the Backup from CLI and let me know how it works !!!
NMSROOT\bin\perl NMSROOT\bin\backup.pl BKP  [Logfile] [Num_Generations]

For e.g:
C:\PROGRA~1\CSCOpx\bin>perl C:\PROGRA~1\CSCOpx\bin\backup.pl L:\newBackup

where newBackup is the Directory where you will be keeping the Backup.

Hi Afroj,

The Ciscoworks backup didnt go through.I have checked the dbbackup.log file and found nothing has updated. It is at the same stage where it was failed last time after that  nothing has been updated.I think the backup itself is not running. In the admin page it says " backup did not find or unable to detect ".You can see the attached screenshot.

Thanks & Regds,

Lalit
