Ciscoworks credentials question

Is there any advantage to configuring ciscoworks credentials with username/password,etc. versus only using snmp community names? Can Ciscoworks do something by logging on that it cannot do via snmp?

Versions prior to LMS 2.5 could only do configuration changes on most devices via telnet/SSH. Now it really depends on the device type. For example, while IOS and CatOS configuration changes can be made via SNMP/TFTP, PIX device management requires either telnet or SSH.
